No veteran should be homeless!

Your donation will help veterans reclaim some self respect and guide them to a better future.

Your support of the Kern County Veterans Stand Down will help veterans regain the pride that they once held while they were a member of the United States military. Annually, the California Veterans Assistance Foundation needs $12,000 to fund this event and at least 90% of all donated money will go towards that goal.

Since 1998, the Kern County Veterans Stand Down has served thousands of veterans. Currently, the California Veterans Assistance Foundation (CVAF) hosts this event and has done so since 2011. The Stand Down is held on the second Thursday of October at Stramler Park in Bakersfield, California. This one day event is open to veterans (especially homeless veterans) and their families only. During the day, veterans can relax in a friendly atmosphere among other veterans and will have access to valuable resources that may not be available to them because of their current life situation.

At last year's Stand Down, over 500 veterans took advantage of the opportunities offered and were able to obtain career counseling, assistance with veterans and Social Security benefits, health screenings, housing information and assistance, free food, free clothing, free haircuts and much more. Should you wish to contribute by mail, please send your donation to the California Veterans Assistance Foundation, 1400 Easton Drive, Suite 102, Bakersfield CA 93309.
